USA Today readers recently picked the top 10 wine country hotels in the United States in 2026 — and half can be found in the Golden State.
These spots “provide a perfect place to relax over a glass of wine after a day of touring and tasting,” USA Today said.

What is the No. 1 wine country hotel in the nation?
USA Today named Bolero Casitas at Europa Village the No. 1 wine country hotel in the U.S. in 2026.
The Temecula hotel “melds rustic Old World charm with the luxury of modern amenities, making it an unparalleled retreat for wine enthusiasts,” USA Today said.
Guests can enjoy the hotel’s Spanish-inspired architecture, and choose to stay in a private casita or in a room or suite at the inn. Be sure to explore the tasting rooms and restaurants in surrounding Europa Village.
The Europa Village property features three wineries, including the Spanish-inspired Bolero winery. Wine lovers can also check out Vienza, an Italian-style winery and C’est La Vie, a French-inspired winery.
Europa Village’s two lodging options — Bolero Casitas and The Inn — offer standard rooms as well as suites. Some rooms have balconies, vineyard views, fireplaces and oversized showers.
Room rates at Bolero Casitas range from $215 to $495 a night.
What can I do at Temecula winery?
Bolero Casitas offers multiple lodging packages with wine tasting and food vouchers.
The Balloons Over Temecula package features a hot air balloon flight for two with A Grape Escape Balloon Adventures plus champagne and breakfast.

Hotel guests can dine at Bolero Restaurante, which serves a tapas-style menu, or try Mercato di Vienza, an Italian deli and market with wood-fired pizzas, gelato and grab-and-go options.
You can tour the vineyard for $99 or take part in a premium tour and hands-on wine-blending experience complete with wine and food pairings for $122.
Wine tasting at Europa Village wineries costs $36 to $46 per person. A multi-winery passport is available for $76.

A total of five California destinations made USA Today’s 2026 list of the top wine country hotels in the United States.
Two of those top-rated hotels can be found in Napa Valley.
One is in Lodi in San Joaquin County, and the other is part of Paso Robles wine country in San Luis Obispo County.

USA Today readers also picked the best wine tasting rooms, wine clubs, winery tours and wine regions in the nation.
