Which squishy dumpling toys have been recalled?

Squeezy Dumplings

On Sept. 3, China-based Xiamen Liuhui Electric Technology Co. Ltd. recalled about 8,000 units of its GIHNJSI Squeezy Dumplings toys.

The toys are translucent, round squishy balls with cartoon faces, glitter-like particles and water beads inside.

Each toy comes in a tan plastic container shaped like a bamboo steamer, with “SQUEEZY DUMPLINGS” and “SQUEEZE ME” printed on a removable label.

The product itself has no markings.

“The squeezy toys contain water beads,” the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said. “If ingested, water beads expand and can pose deadly ingestion, choking, and intestinal obstruction hazards inside a child’s body, resulting in severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration, and a risk of death to a child.”

The toys were sold nationwide on Amazon from May through June for about $20.

Consumers should immediately stop using the toys and contact the company for a full refund.

As part of the recall process, consumers will be asked to write “RECALLED” on the squishy toy and its plastic container, throw both away and email a photo to [email protected].
