The 15th annual Sacramento Banana Festival returns to William Land Park for a weekend-long celebration of diverse foods, cultures and live reggae music.

The family-friendly banana-themed festival aims to celebrate countries where bananas are grown within their cultures. Attendees are encouraged to wear their best banana-themed outfits.

This weekend’s music performances include the Brazilian Culture Center of Sacramento, Soul Fyah in da Mix, The Sky Eyes band and Stuck. In. A. Tree. (SIAT).
Food and drinks for purchase include banana pudding, frozen chocolate-covered bananas, banana splits and a banana bar, with alcoholic beverages available.

Kids can enter the Kid Zone for banana-themed art projects, banana storytelling, banana mural painting and bounce houses.
Other sights to see include various arts and crafts vendors and contests like the banana eating contest, the banana pie eating contest or the best dressed banana doggy costume photo contest.

The festival is hosted by the Sojourner Truth African Heritage Museum, which seeks to preserve and promote African heritage, art, culture and education.
