DALLAS – The body camera footage stemming from the March arrest of Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale made its way into the public eye Tuesday.

In a 1 minute, 48 second recording of body camera footage obtained by the California Post, Ogunbowale, Wings teammate Paige Bueckers and other WNBA players were seen in a frantic interaction with law enforcement officers.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of March 5 outside the Miami night club E11EVEN MIAMI as players were attempting to exit the venue.
In the video, a law enforcement officer appears to grab Ogunbowale, which caused a stir with those outside the club. One person yelled, “Do not grab her!” The video went on to show Bueckers, with her arm around Ogunbowale, telling law enforcement, “We got her.” An officer then pointed a taser at their faces and yelled, “Let her go!”
The officer proceeded to put handcuffs on Ogunbowale and said, “You’re going to go to jail.” Ogunbowale continued to ask law enforcement why she was being arrested as they walked her to the police car.

Ogunbowale was charged with misdemeanor battery, according to Miami-Dade County jail records. According to the arrest affidavit, Ogunbowale punched a man in the face with a closed fist, causing him to fall to the ground.
She was later released on $1,000 bond before the case against her was dropped in criminal court before the start of the Wings’ season.
Ogunbowale and Bueckers were in the Miami area to play in Unrivaled, a professional 3-on-3 women’s basketball league founded by WNBA stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. Ogunbowale scored 19 points to help lead Mist to an 80-74 win over Phantom in the league’s championship game.
