The match, which begins at 11 a.m. ET on ESPN, marks the second time the duo has met at a grand slam final — and 15th time overall — with Sinner riding a nine-match win streak over Sunday’s opponent. The Slamtracker on Wimbledon’s website also gives Sinner a 62% chance of victory.
Here we take a closer look at two of the people closest to Sinner, his parents, Siglinde and Johann.
Who Are Jannik Sinner’s Parents?
Sinner was born was born on August 16, 2001, in San Candido, Italy, to Siglinde and Johann Sinner — both of whom will not be sitting in the Wimbledon Royal Box for Sunday’s gentleman’s championship match.
According to Town & Country magazine, “Jannik’s parents are also at his matches frequently, although his mother sometimes avoids them, only out of anxiety for her son.”
While they’re constantly supporting the 24-year-old star’s career, the Sinner family is also no stranger to hard work, even when their schedules collide with their son’s tennis calendar. Johann Sinner missed the historic 2025 French Open final against Carlos Alcaraz due to work.
Siglinde and Johann both worked at an Italian ski lodge during Jannik’s upbringing — Sinner nearly took up skiing before going all-in on tennis at age 13 — though these days they’re involved with the family’s apartment and guest house management back in Italy.

Johann, who spent four decades in the food industry, has even served as Sinner’s professional chef on tour, according to People.
Sinner has also frequently and publicly credited his parents for what they’ve done for him from a young age.
“I wish that everyone could have my parents because they always let me choose whatever I wanted to,” Jannik previously told Tennis Actu TV. “Even when I was younger, I also (played) some other sports and they never put pressure on (me) … I wish that this freedom is possible for as many young kids as possible.”
Jannik Sinner told his parents he’d stop playing tennis if he wasn’t in top 200 by age 23 because they didn’t have the money:
“I told them if I’m 23 or 24 & not in the top 200, I would stop playing because we couldn’t afford it with the money we had”
