Tre Pazzi Trattoria at 928 Lincoln Way will say goodbye to customers on Dec. 31. The restaurant’s staff announced Monday on social media they had received word their lease would not be renewed.

“As you can imagine, this is incredibly heartbreaking for all of us,” the staff wrote. “Auburn isn’t just where we have worked for the past 17 years. It’s the community that has supported us, welcomed us into your lives, celebrated with us, and allowed us to be a small part of your stories.”

Staff thanked their loyal customer base and wrote that it was an honor watching the customers “children grow up, (to) share in (its customers) special moments, and the honor of serving generations of families.”

“There simply aren’t enough words to express how grateful we are for every meal shared, every kind word, every visit, every celebration, and every bit of support you have shown us over the years,” the online note said. “You are the reason we have been here for 17 years, and you are what has made this place so special.”
