The power couple, which was married for 13 years, announced their divorce in the fall of 2022, stunning the sports and celebrity world.
“In recent days, my wife and I finalized our divorce from one another after 13 years of marriage,” Brady announced on social media. “We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.”
Bundchen shared a similar statement, suggesting that they had grown apart after more than a decade together.
“The decision to end a marriage is never easy but we have grown apart and while it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always.”

A main cause of the divorce, according to reports, seemed to be Brady’s commitment to football. He played into his mid-40s. Gisele repeatedly asked him to retire and focus on their family, but he kept playing.
In fact, according to a report, Gisele made one desperate “plea” days before finalizing the divorce, writing a handwritten note to her then-husband, asking him to be more committed to the family.
“According to the book, Bündchen sacrificed a great deal for her husband, and the balance between them was never equal. Anderson wrote that Brady was often gone and was an absent father, and that football was the cause. The biography also reportedly says Bündchen gave Brady a handwritten letter before the divorce explaining that the marriage was not working for her. Anderson wrote that she needed more of his time, attention and presence at home, more help with the kids, and more time for her own career,” Hollywood Plus shares, citing Lars Anderson’s biography on Brady.
In the end, though, it didn’t work, as the couple decided to divorce in October of 2022.
