Sacramento Republic FC on Wednesday announced the opening a preview center for their new stadium in the Downtown Railyards where fans can choose their seats and get a look at the venue’s features.

The preview center, located at 428 J St. in DoCo, will open Sept. 30 with an invite-only ribbon cutting ceremony. Then the club’s season ticket holders and those who have put down deposits on tickets will be able to schedule appointments to see the new 20,000-seat stadium set to open in 2028.
The preview center will include scale model of the stadium, a display celebrating the club’s history, memorabilia and a collection of jerseys from the team’s 12-year history in Sacramento.
“Opening the Republic Preview Center brings us another step closer to our downtown home than ever before. It will be a place that our fans and this community can see, touch, and feel the future of soccer and entertainment in Sacramento,” Republic FC president and general manager Tim Holt said in a statement. “Seat selection is just around the corner, and we don’t want anyone to miss out on the opportunity.”
The new stadium will be privately funded by the team’s ownership group, Wilton Rancheria, and is expected to cost roughly $450 million as a centerpiece of a wide-ranging construction project in the Railyards that will run in the billions.

The initial stadium plan revealed in 2024 called for roughly half the capacity with the ability to expand to 20,000 to accommodate a promotion to the MLS or an equivalent soccer league. But those plans were scrapped this spring as Republic FC decided to build the expanded version— instead making the club ready to move to MLS or the top USL League, USL Premier, planned to launch in 2028 and compete directly with MLS.
Republic FC has long had eyes on expanding to MLS, which included winning an expansion bid in 2019 before top investor Ron Burkle backed out of the agreement because of COVID pandemic-related economic challenges.
The team was later purchased by Wilton Rancheria in 2024 at the same time it announced plans for its new stadium.
The team currently plays at Heart Health Park at Cal Expo, a venue made of temporary grandstands that holds some 11,500 and cost $3 million when it opened in 2014.
