Victim in Sacramento hit-and-run dies; CHP seeking driver in fatal collision

California Highway Patrol officers are looking for a driver suspected in a Sept. 2 hit-and-run that led to the death of a Sacramento man, officials with the patrol’s South Sacramento office said.

The driver struck the pedestrian about 11:37 p.m. Sept. 2 on Florin Road east of Fawn Way in South Sacramento, then fled the scene. The pedestrian died Monday from injuries suffered in the collision, CHP officials said.

Investigators were searching for an older-model black sedan that fled the scene.

The CHP asked anyone who witnessed the incident, had dashcam footage or had information about the vehicle to contact the patrol’s South Sacramento office at 916-897-5600.
