What Fans Said
Many fans on X called out Triple H, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, over the result. These posts were collected by ITR Wrestling:
“Fk you Triple H….ROXANNE WAS RIGHT F***G THERE!!!”
“Maybe the worst decision ever even lash was a better option Roxy should have won”
“This stupid company never does anything right, it should have been Roxane but of course you idiots pick the worst person in the match”
The Crowd in New Orleans
The arena reaction backed up what fans were saying online. Cageside Seats wrote that “the crowd was hot for Roxanne,” and that “the muted reaction to Tiffany’s ascent spoke volumes.” The site added that it “took the crowd a bit to get back into the show after the letdown.”

Cageside also called the result one of WWE’s “safe choices,” and said a Perez win would have shown WWE was “ready to make a new star rather than going back to the well.”

Why Fans Wanted Roxanne Perez to Win
Perez is one of the most decorated wrestlers in NXT history and a current member of The Judgment Day. Liv Morgan, also in The Judgment Day, won the Women’s World Championship back from Stephanie Vaquer later the same night.
That’s why fans pointed to Perez. A briefcase would have given her a guaranteed title shot against a stablemate, building on the tension already inside the group.
Who Has Won Money in the Bank Twice?
Two women have won the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match twice: Carmella and Tiffany Stratton. Carmella won the first women’s briefcase in 2017.

How Stratton Cashed In Her First Briefcase
Stratton won her first Money in the Bank contract in July 2024. She cashed it in on Nia Jax in January 2025 to win the WWE Women’s Championship.
Cageside noted that fans fear a repeat of that story. Stratton’s close friend, Chelsea Green, currently holds the WWE Women’s Championship.
What’s Next for Stratton
Stratton holds the briefcase for up to a year, and she can cash it in on either women’s world champion at any time. WWE has not announced her next move.
